Track & Field is more than competition it’s a platform for mentorship and growth. Our coaches work closely with athletes to pursue personal bests while building character, discipline, and teamwork. Whether an athlete is aiming for college opportunities or simply wants to get faster and stronger, Springfield Ballers provides the guidance to help them thrive.
Who: Boys & Girls • Beginners to Advanced (grade-based groups)
Season: Primary Spring, with off-season development and clinics as available throughout the year.
Location: Tracks and facilities in Springfield, MA and surrounding communities
Coaches: Background-checked volunteers focused on mentorship and safety
Access: Affordable fees, scholarships, and free clinics (as available) Our goal is to keep fees affordable and provide opportunities for scholarships.
Speed & Mechanics: Sprint form, starts, acceleration, top-end speed
Endurance: Pacing, race strategy, aerobic/anaerobic development
Events & Skills: Hurdles, relays, long/triple/high jump, shot put, discus, javelin*
Strength & Mobility: Core stability, injury prevention, flexibility
Track IQ: Relay exchanges, lane etiquette, rules, meet preparation
*Event offerings may vary by age, safety guidelines, and facility access.
Beginner: Foundations—running form, basic drills, confidence building
Intermediate: Event specialization, race strategy, consistent training habits
Advanced/Competitive: Peak performance, meet tactics, leadership, college prep
We pair technical coaching with mentorship to teach perseverance, leadership, accountability, and time management. Athletes learn to set goals, reflect on progress, and carry a growth mindset into school and life.
Dynamic warm-ups, cooldowns, hydration, and recovery education
Heat/lightning and weather protocols; age-appropriate progressions
Code of conduct for athletes, families, and coaches
All coaches complete background checks
Comfortable athletic wear and running shoes (spikes optional by event/age)
We can assist with loaner gear (limited) and guidance on affordable options
Uniform information is shared after registration
A pathway for personal records, leadership, and college visibility
Inclusive access through scholarships and free clinics so no child is turned away
